Almost all taxis on the island are now 4WD golf cart taxis, specifically, yellow Can-Am Defenders, with the taxi number in black on each one. There is a place in the back of the cart for the luggage.

Two years ago, 90% of Holbox taxis were replaced by four-wheeler taxis, because when it rains in Holbox the streets get muddy and create deep puddles, so a regular golf cart gets stuck.

With these new taxis, you can get all around Holbox’s roads without a problem. The bad side is that they are much noisier than the previous ones.
